Nice little park, it's nice for the kids to ride their bikes and get some exercise. Has a nice open field for kids to play sports or fly a kite.
I wonder if anyone remembers the elementary school that was here and occupied the area of the current park? In 1975 my family moved here from PA, and I went there for 6th grade. We lived just across the highway on Auburn Lane, so the school was very close. The school was brand new back then, with just a few recently planted small trees, and little grass. Some of the rooms had a modern open concept where the classrooms were open to each other, but there were moveable walls if needed. Years later as a pilot I went back circa 2010 and the school was still there, but closed. Fond memories, great teachers. We were even taught square dancing during some of our gym classes, in this very gym in the photo.
Monkey bars 3 kinds. 4 slides. 2 Regular swings. Sand. Benches. Walk orbike path. Basketball and tennis court. Grass area with small hill.
Two Bald Eagles flew right over me while resting on a bike ride sitting in the rustic area on the trail to the north. Barely above the trees,in no hurry.....it was the most awesome/beautiful/epic/all the above I've ever seen, but I'm only 63.....
This park was always awesome. It's tucked away and has tons to do. They recently remodeled and changed the entire park.. it's the best
