I visited this establishment several times when going through adoption (wet nose rescue) and each visit at wet nose dry paws was amazing. Kind employees who always took the time to assist with questions. They also have a cute little pet store where you can get blue diamond (that is what my pup eats) at a reasonable price. They also carry other dogfood, treats, leashes... Etc. each dog that came in for daycare was excited to be there. Which told me that they were comfortable and wanted to be there which means a lot to me
I’ve been taking Winston to WNDP for a few years and this has been the best boarding experience he’s had. Winston is a senior dog, which brings complex care. He couldn’t do stairs, so the team would carry him up/down every day. He stopped walking much, so they set him up on a nice bed with the other quiet dogs. He had incontinence issues, so they would bathe him and even give him a belly band. I’m saying all this to describe how much they care for your pup when they’re there. I didn’t need to ask them to do any of that, but they clearly wanted the best for Winston and I always knew he’d be in good hands here.
We had a deeply upsetting experience with Wet Nose and feel compelled to share our story so others can make informed decisions. We adopted our dog after being told she was completely healthy with no medical concerns. Within 24 hours of bringing her home, she became critically ill and required three days of emergency hospitalization for severe infection, dehydration, and significant weight loss. We spent nearly $4,000 in vet bills to save her life. After requesting her medical records (which were only given to us AFTER we adopted her), we learned she had undergone major abdominal surgery just days before adoption, including treatment for a ruptured spleen and torn ligaments. She was prescribed medications that were never provided to us (or even disclosed to us) and her discharge paperwork clearly required 10 days of strict bed rest — yet we adopted her on day five. She had been transported from Texas through Saving Hope Animal Rescue, and it is unacceptable that a dog recovering from major surgery was transported and placed for adoption without full medical disclosure or proper follow-up care. When we contacted Wet Nose for accountability and assistance with medical bills, they refused to help and claimed they were unaware of her medical history. Any responsible rescue should obtain complete medical records and ensure a dog is medically cleared before adoption. I even contacted local shelters asking if this was standard practice, and they were completely shocked at how this situation was handled. I know we are not the only story of this happening. Please do your research on this shelter, there are hundreds of Instagram, Facebook and reddit stories sharing similar experiences. Sharing my story isn’t “online slander,” it’s transparency and holding people accountable. I love my dog so much and am glad she’s on the mend, but this situation is completely unacceptable. Wet Nose clearly prioritized profit over animal safety.
This organization run dog adaption and day care. We adopted a puppy from this day care location on January 10. On January 13, she began vomiting and was taken to a ER vet hospital, where she was diagnosed with CANINE PARVENUS. We’ve spent approximately $3,000 on her emergency treatment by now. This rescue provided the puppy NO a veterinary exam, NO deworming, and NO being spayed, yet we were charged a $600 adoption fee and NO REFUND POLICY for puppies. We were also required to purchase pet insurance, which proved ineffective due to a 14-day waiting period and did not cover this illness. The incubation period for parvovirus is generally 5–10 days according to the vets. Multiple emergency veterinarians clearly stated that our puppy was infected prior to adoption and caused us so much medical expense! And poor puppies who didn’t get good vet check or care! We notified the rescue immediately by both text and email upon receiving the diagnosis. As of now, we have received NO RESPONSE! We are going to request accountability and transparency regarding how this rescue handles health screening, disease prevention, and communication—both for the safety of animals and for adopters who are placed under significant emotional and financial burden again! I hope receiving a response and understanding how the rescue plans to address this situation responsibly!
Went to look at a dog today at tacoma location and original apt was set for 11 which was moved to 2( totally get life happens, and if the foster ladies are reading this you all were amazing). The younger lady that is running the rescue at this location is not customer friendly said right before we were going to say yes to getting the dog, " you need to decide because someone else is waiting for it and I need to leave. That is no way to talk to a customer even if the day was busy and just got done dealing with 50 people like she said when we first came in. She gave no interest in the questions we had. We got this reaction after only being there for less than 30 minutes.She is hindering the effects that are trying to be made with the attitude she has. I would recommended more customer service training.
