Too bad The Fort, a small replica of an old 19th century fort, that was the play structure and sometimes hang out in the early 1970s for us kids, got torn down. Termites, dry rot, disuse, and disinterest along with cyclone fencing will do that. For us early 1970s kids that lived around there, that was the happening place. I'm glad I have my memories. I used to attend Wildwood Elementary school way back, and loved hiking around in the canyon. That was it when I was a kid. Hike established trails, maybe making a few new ones, and always on the lookout for rattlesnakes and not falling into the ever present prickly pear cactus patches or tumble weeds. To name a few fun items.

The amount and variety of trails here is impressive. For all skill levels. Check out the trails on All Trails for a complete list and difficulty details.

I love this park. This afternoon I found 8 beautiful ladies sharing food, drinks and quality time.
