Nice, relaxing park to visit. They have a pond where you can fish, a pirate ship park, plenty of tables with chairs and a restroom. There was no problem grinding a parking spot.

Cute playground, it's like a big pirate ship that kids can scramble all over. Lots of climbing points which my kids loved. The play equipment looks very new and in good condition; prior reviews make it sound like it was renovated in 2024 sometime. This is a well appointed park - there's a parking area with about 15 spaces, a covered pavilion with four picnic tables, a restroom, a pond with walking path surrounding it, several additional tables out around the park, and of course the play area. I took a star off because theres basically no shade anywhere on the playground and that is an egregious sin to me for a TX park. The developers of these outdoor spaces really should consider that they'd get more use if there was some reprieve from the sun, which is an issue for about 9 months out of the year!

We walked here yesterday. Super fun and cute playground. There was a momma duck with baby ducks in the pond. I don’t remember if there was a bathroom at this location before they rebuilt it, but now it has a pavilion with a bathroom near the playground. Only negative would be that there isn’t a lot of shade down by the playground Update 2026: they added shade above the playground

Newly Renovated Park very nice park. Neat and clean restrooms. Water fountain makes park more beautiful. All amenities are new in very tranquil environments. Kids playing are not enough but its very good.

Nice park! We really enjoy Wilshire Park and the adorable pirate ship playground. The bathrooms and parking are convenient, and the pond with the fountain and sidewalk path make it such a pleasant place to walk. My only suggestions would be to replace the wood chips with the soft rubber flooring that many parks use now. The wood chips can be rough on little feet and tend to stick to kids’ clothes, which makes it tricky for babies to crawl or toddle around. Also, while there are a few shade triangles, they don’t quite cover the main play areas or benches in the late afternoon. A bit more shade would make a big difference for both the kids and parents on hot days. A little more shade would really help the mamas who are there with their babies in strollers watching their older kids play. Those little ones just blister in the sun. Overall, it’s a great park and we’re thankful to have it nearby! 🌳⚓️💦
