Nice park along the river. Has a large and sandy beach, picnic tables, and restrooms that open during the warmer months. The Waterfront Trail begins here and you can walk or ride it four miles to downtown. Summertime can be a zoo with lots of people swimming and partying. Fall and winter is a great time to go if you want quiet and solitude broken only by the planes taking off and the occasional train.

Came here to watch the boat lights, 2 amazing lady's were handing out free hot cocoa, which saved me from freezing. With a little donation to the kiddos. Police even stroll through often to check on the scenery, which isn't a bad idea. Overall amazing experience at night.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. I am writing this in my car since I am upset. Parking fees will be enforced starting May 1st and go through September 30th. I love this park. I come here often to walk along the river and decompress after a long day at work. As of tomorrow May 1st there will be enforced parking of a $6 a day flat-rate option through the Parking Kitty App. This used to be free. I doubt the regulars who walk or jog here will pay that just to do their nightly decompressing session any longer. It would be worth it if you plan to spend a day here. And there are plenty of things to do to occupy yourself here in my opinion. But I will now be forced to find a new place to walk or jog nightly since this place and the waterfront now charge for parking. I feel bad for those that don’t have the funds to enjoy a little nature or the ability to download an app for parking their car (like the elderly, those without a smart-phone, or those that aren’t tech savvy). I will miss you Wintler Park unless you start to charge an hourly rate option, I will have to say goodbye for now. 😞 (would have rated 5 stars, but I removed one based on parking principle). I understand why fees are important to maintain parks such as these, but please consider offering a hourly option!

Columbia waterfront park in vancouver nice trails and beach close parking and bathrooms available. Garbage cans available as well. Its a nice place to park during a storm or spend a sunny day on the beach. Please never underestimate the current in the Columbia River. People who swim well have spent their lives growing uo on this river have lost their lives to it. Wear a life jacket is your best defense even if your an Olympic swimmer that lifekacket will one day save your life on. This river. Its the nature of the beast. So lifek life jacket uo a d have fun its a beautiful place to play in the water find rocks and picnic. Just remember to practice that water safety please.

Garbage and litter everywhere. People need to take better care of our nature spots .and the city could do a better job of up keeping the grounds as well. Could be a beautiful place to take your family or just go relax if those issues are addressed.
