You peeps that gave 3/4/5 star reviews, please go to San Pedro dog park or Huntington "Beach" dog park, otherwise st. hu. UPDATE: I see why more dogs are not here!!!! THORN ALERT! I'm not sure, but plants or trees are dropping thorns that got between Kobi's pads twice. Your dog LIMPING is not a site you want to see at a lunch break dog park. NOTE PICTURE! The arrow shows the thorn area, outside the dirt and rock area! A large open area for dogs-both big and small. This park has so much potential! Get it together, LBC! Lacking in any ambiance or grass, this place has great potential, but for now, it reminds me of wild west ghost town. There is a large development going up nearby, and this dog park would be great updated to version. 7.0 to go with that development. Kenji and Kobi didn't mind, but they weren't impressed enough to play at all. Thorns will do that.

It’s a Large dog park which is wonderful, and I appreciate that. It has one ☝️ wonderful 💦 fountain! On hot days there is little to NO use at all!! The dogs cannot stand at the water fountain and drink without burning their paws therefore there is little to no sanctuary for dogs or human here. Dogs of all size and breeds are abandon here way to frequently. They have filled in, and leveled out from what it was a few years ago. Looking much nicer, but.... there’s more work that needs done.🧐 Easy access, but not much parking for vehicles. There are very few shade trees, and setting places. The back edge is lined with mature trees, but not comfortable to sit under. During hot S CA days the wood shake it’s filled with is extremely hot on the dogs feet the. It’s seriously needs Many more mature trees for shade! The freshwater source coming through the outer wall has been leaking for sometime, and needs replaced. Maybe a few trees could be planted around that area to be naturally watered by the faucet.

It’s a pretty big park. No grass. Wood chips. Lots of poop left on the ground. Hardly any dogs when I went. 2nd door is broken. Thankfully someone made a makeshift barrier. Be careful with little spiky things from a tree to the very far left from the entrance. My dog got some stuck to his paw. They were pretty sharp.

Nice big dog park with a separate area for small dogs. It was wonderful, but I was told about coyote in the area so on the lookout at dusk. That's -small dog area,- not a place to bring an aggressive animal because you have to put a muzzle on it around other dogs in the park. The dog park rules for Long Beach specifically state No Aggressive Dogs in their dog parks within the City.
