Great park on the NE of Kansas City. The trails could be better marked, only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. The trail was great, scenic and full of fall colors. A few nice views of the lake as well. The bathrooms were locked, so that was a slight annoyance but there were some porta potties that were clean. The Snackle Box is a fun little greasy spoon right on the water. It’s a lovely park and will definitely be back.

I saw the swans again there. I one by self around the first of the month but to late to take a picture but yesterday I was. Able to find them after they eat by a cove. Another person was there and took another picture of them and he lived in this area and never saw them here before.

I was lucky enough to have the chance to visit this lake today even though it rained the entire time. Absolutely beautiful with tons of fishing spots from the bank, lots of big shelter houses and playgrounds, and good roads around the perimeter. It's well maintained except for the disgusting amount of trash polluting the banks despite the availability of trash cans literally everywhere. People suck. But would definitely recommend this for a summer vacation spot. Just flipping clean up after yourselves. Shameful disrespect of nature.

I had such a great time fishing out there! Now the fish are gangster 😆 🤣 they ate all my bait.

On the first nice day of the year, the place was packed but everyone was friendly and courteous. People were fishing, grilling out, picnicing, all in all having fun. The park was clean, even the restrooms. The Bridle Loop trail was well maintained and well marked, even though a few spots were still wet. Plenty of tables, fire pits, grills, and grassy spots to hang out. There were mostly large families and large gatherings that day.
