Captain was abandoned and running out of time. I didn’t know where to turn, and honestly, I was losing hope. Called many animal shelters and animal control organizations, none were willing to help me, then I called YAPS, and Jennifer Celise picked up. She didn’t ask for excuses, she just listened, cared, and acted. From that moment on, she carried Captain’s story like it mattered. She kept me updated, she moved fast, and in just a few days she found him a home with people who saw his worth and welcomed him with open arms. Captain went from forgotten to loved. That shift happened because Jennifer refused to let him slip through the cracks. I will never forget what she did. And anyone who believes compassion is fading in this world should meet Jennifer, or walk through YAPS. They reminded me that even with almost nothing, a determined heart can still save a life.

Great place to find dogs and cats. They really care about their furry adoptables. Kids can volunteer 16 years old by themselves or younger with an adult. But most volunteers are at least 14 years old and they do volunteer orientations. My kids and I enjoy volunteering at YAPS. Here are some dogs we took out for potty breaks aka Potty Pawtrol.

They have a group of nice volunteers. Their pets are loved and get exercised and evaluated. The property is clean and doesn't have a shelter smell... they are no kill. They offer boarding for their community. The staff have always been accommodating. The animal is their focus. I have not adopted here but have been here multiple times.

My family and I love to volunteer at YAPs. We have been helping since March 2025. Staff very friendly and love their dogs and cats.

The people there absolutely care for animals. I found a cat and brought that kitty to them. They were full and can't have anymore cats. Understandable. They gave me a list of others that will take this little lady. Also gave me food for this little girl.
