Zelenka Park

Zelenka Park, tucked away in the southeast corner of the city, is one of those cozy little facilities that has a little for everyone. The most prominent feature of the park is its large football field, which has been resurfaced and refurbished several times in the last decade or so, which takes up about 3/4 of the park's area. There is however, a very nice compact playground that has swings, a medium sized jungle gym with numerous slides to keep the kids happy, and a full court basketball court for older kids. For rest and comfort, there are some benches and a couple of tables for taking a little nosh on. The surface of the playground itself was resurfaced about a year ago, and it is enjoyed too. For safety and security, the playground is fenced in.

Had my grandson's first birthday party here, a little pricey to rent a small area, other park patrons don't understand that the space is rented & have a bit of an attitude about it

It’s new and has a great field for baseball or football. Definitely gets muddy after rain. That’s where the positive points end. The playground was not designed thoughtfully with a specific age group in mind. Most of the equipment is too high or challenging for children under 4. There are no baby swings so it’s not geared for little ones. On the other hand, the size of the playground (miniscule) is not appropriate for older kids. This park had Great potential but was poorly executed.
