Zimmerman Park is an absolute gem and one of those places that really reminds you why Montana is so special. From the moment you arrive, you’re treated to incredible views that stretch out over the surrounding landscape, making it a perfect spot for taking photos, relaxing, or just soaking in the scenery. Whether you’re there during golden hour or in the middle of the day, the views are consistently impressive and never get old. The park is also super fun to hike and explore. The trails are easy to navigate but still interesting enough to feel like a little adventure. It’s great for all ages and skill levels — you can take a casual walk, do a longer hike, or just wander around and discover different viewpoints. Every turn seems to offer something new, whether it’s a better overlook, a quiet spot to sit, or a new path to follow. What really stands out is how accessible yet peaceful the park feels. It’s close enough to be convenient, but once you’re there, it feels like you’ve escaped into nature. It’s a perfect place for families, couples, solo hikers, or anyone who just wants to get outside and breathe some fresh mountain air. Zimmerman Park is one of those places you’ll want to come back to again and again — easy, beautiful, and genuinely fun to explore. A must-visit if you’re in the area. 🌲🏔️

I love this area! It is great for hiking and for exploring the area. I love the view from the top of the trail and you can see the entire city.

Excellent hiking area for you and pups. Is off leash once on trail unless you walk the asphalt edge skyline trail where dogs should be leashed. Great city views right off the rims.

Miles of trails are looped above the city to enjoy. Most are small inclines and sandy or rock for walking, hiking, dogs, and bikes. Even when the parking lot is full the trails are never crowded. Great sunsets and sunrises overlooking Billings.
