Took my 3 year old to masons place and he loved it. Very nicely upkept and clean playground that's toddler friendly. The bathrooms on site were clean and very convenient. Plenty of benches and picnic in the sun and shade are amazing for snack times as well.
Read more about Sokol ParkLovely trails through some Alabama countryside. The initial walk in is pretty heavy with road noise and basically being in people's backyards. However about a mile in several trails split off and you have a nice quiet forest dominated by loblolly pines and some local Harwood. I particularly liked the broad leaf magnolias you can find scattered about. The Creek itself is not really accessible though there are a few nice overlook. Some rough paths down to the canyon the creek runs in do exist but we didn't stray from any designated trails. Those trails are pretty well kept lots of gravel on the main paths well packed earth on the side trails. The undergrowth is certainly open so if busy you will be seeing and hearing fellow hikers. Paths are dog friendly but bring them water it gets hot.
Read more about Hurricane Creek ParkIt’s a great place. Sadly people sit at the entrance and pay no attention to their dogs. It was gross. Staying on the path was ok. But so much waste everywhere. Do better folks. This park is a gift
Read more about Will May Dog ParkMy family and I love this park. Has a fun playground for the little ones but it isn’t shaded at all so best for early mornings or late afternoons. Great walking path around it. Easy for adults and kids. Great for scooters and rollerblades. The fountain in the summer is great. My kids have been coming for years and we even had one of my oldest son’s birthday parties here in late August a couple years back. Has bathrooms too which is nice and plenty of dog pickup stations and trash cans around.
