What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
This is a great park. I went here as a kid over 40 years ago all the time and loved it then. Now they have made an all new play area. One of the coolest play structures in town. It also has a lot of shade, so on hot days you don’t get to warm. There are also lots of places for adults to sit and watch. Finally, there are a lot of musical toys for kids to practice playing and making up songs. I highly recommend it.
Read more about Ottawa Hills ParkNice park with lots of walking trails, plus a beach area with boat rentals, swimming area, pavilions, playgrounds that is open seasonally and requires admission. The walking trails are free and open year round. The sign says the gate is closed at dusk, but watch out! At least one weeknight in November, the gate was closed a few minutes after sunset, well before dusk, trapping at least 3 vehicles inside. Coincidentally, there may also be tire tracks in the grass next to the entrance drive.
Read more about Millennium ParkAbsolutely love this park. It's super quiet and always clean. Easy to get in a quick walk, as it's only a mile on main loop. Plenty of shaded areas to rest & a few beaten trails to explore. My only complaint is the composite decking. It gets way too hot for dogs to be out on it during summer, unless you go really early in the day, or late in the evening. I would LOVE to have a water station fountain / bottle fill / dog water bowl at the entrance. I think that would be a nice addition.
Read more about Huff ParkI bring my dog here all the time. He loves it and gets all excited when we get close. This is my favorite dog park in grand rapids. They've got a water fountain for humans and dogs. There is a side for large breed and a side for smaller breed dogs. My miniature schnauzer likes to play frisbee here. There is a very large track that goes around the whole park that you can get a good walk on. The park has frisbee golf, soccer, tennis, basketball, and a playground for the kids. They have pavilions for parties that i'm pretty sure you can reserve. This is a great place to get some recreation.
