Very nice park, my dog loves it. Only thing that with make it better is more benches or picnic tables to sit at.

The Unfenced Off-leash Dog Park area is located on the east side of Alberta Park right where NE Jarrett st runs into Alberta Park. The dog park area is comparable in size to other Portland city parks that incorporate a unfenced Offleash dog Park area within an existing city Park . These types of unfenced off leash areas are not uncommon among Portland city parks however, they are not always visible when searched on Google maps. This one now is. You’re welcome. I’m doing my best to work with Google and get some congruency on describing dog parks in Portland as that there are many different types that are not labeled accurately when searched if even appearing under search results as well. On to more specifics about the Alberta location. Many of the photos and videos that I’ve included with this review, speak for themselves. “A picture is worth a thousand words”. The unfenced Off-leash Dog Park area of Alberta park borders the Portland roller hockey rink to the South, Alberta Park’s natural area habitat to the West, NE 22nd St to the East and shaded Park forest area to the North. Other than the groundcover being all bark chips, there really isn’t anything special about this section of Alberta park other than the fact you’re allowed to have your dogs off leash. Not all park goers are aware that they are in a off leash dog park section of Alberta Park. I made my first visit to this park on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in June. Needless to say, parking was a little tricky. I would imagine street parking isn’t too difficult on a weekday or rainy weekend.

Absolutely no reason to give this 3 stars when you write 500 words and post 19 pictures and provide no description of why it deserves a lackluster grade. It's nice, serene, has lots of space, is surrounded by street parking for maybe 80 cars. It's a beautiful setting. Off leash area is demarcated by short cement posts. It is an off leash dog area, accessible, and clean. After this review, we will get it up to 4.0.

Best dog park we have been to in portland! Very friendly people and dogs. Seems as tho the whole park is dog friendly. We met folks that drive from other parts of the city to relax with their dogs here.
