This is a good dog park. It's completely covered with very fine gravel, and that means there's never really any mud in it. That's always a good thing. There is a small dog area but it is absolutely tiny and quite frankly, they shouldn't have bothered given how small it is. The rest of it is lovely and large with filled with very tall trees, so it's always shady even in the summer. There are obstacle course like things throughout the park for the dogs to play on, though I could wish there were more benches for the humans. There's also water for the dog and restrooms for you which is also nice, in a playground for the kids. The parking lot is always muddy though, so beware of that. All in all a good dog park. Like any place, you have to watch the owners more than the dogs. When that happens, I take my dog and go. It's the only smart move for safety for everyone.

Love this dog park,99% of the time. Alot of people dont like the fine gravel put to me its wonderful especially since our weather can make this really muddy. My only issue is with people whose dogs arent socialized and the owners just turn them loose causing alot of issues. It would be great if thevowners of any dog would keep an eye on their pets. But if that happens we just leave

Took my dogs here today for the first time. As of now, my favorite dog park around. So much room for the dogs to explore, agility equipment to play and train on, water fountains for people and pets, and shady benches to relax on. I also like the stone ground covering, as it helps to wear down their nails, less chance of fleas and ticks, and it makes it so much easier to pick up "messes". They also have a smaller run off to one side which is great for separating smaller dogs, dogs showing signs of aggression, and even allowed for safe introduction of dogs in the park. I met two very nice ladies who came in with their dogs, who were both very friendly and great with their dogs. This is such a nice facility, which is very well kept, with baseball fields and a very nice playground available as well. Thank you Avon Lake for providing such great areas for residents and their furry friends! What a great space. Truly a local gem.

Loved this place, and Hans liked it too. Many benches with shade. Water fountain inside enclosed area. Lots of obstacles and trees, which I think Hans enjoyed more than the obstacles. The ground is small crushed stone (popcorn), so be careful if you wear flip flops.

It's all gravel but the dogs honestly dont mind. I think the owners hate it more than the dogs do. Very clean and well kept. Has water inside the fenced in area. And plenty of room to run. Some people dogs are aggressive but you cant get mad at dogs rushing you at the gate. At least there is a double gate so they dont get loose. They are dogs and excited to see a new friend. My dog loves going there and that's all that matters. Of course you will have instances of bad owners with wild dogs but that doesnt make it bad park by any means. Also...if you bring kids into the park, the structures for the dogs say DOGS ONLY. Get your kids off them and have them play in the actual PLAYGROUND
