Ballenger Creek Park is one of the best outdoor spaces in Frederick and easily deserves five stars. It’s a large, well-maintained park with something for everyone, whether you’re visiting with kids, walking your dog, or just looking to spend some peaceful time outside. The sheer size of the park is one of its best features—you can really spread out and enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by nature, even though you’re still close to town. There are multiple playgrounds throughout the park, which makes it great for families with kids of different ages. The swings and play structures are in good condition, and there’s plenty of room for kids to run around. The picnic pavilions are a nice bonus—many come with grills, so it’s perfect for group gatherings or a casual outdoor meal. The park also has paved walking paths, open fields, and designated soccer areas, so whether you’re up for a quiet walk or a more active day, it fits the bill. The dog parks are another great feature, offering separate spaces for small and large dogs to run off-leash safely. Overall, Ballenger Creek Park offers a little bit of everything and is a great spot to enjoy the outdoors.

This park is massive and offers plenty of things to do. There are multiple playgrounds and sports fields located on the premises. There are also a wide range of walking trails and plenty of parking onsite. Great place to visit especially since they have made constant improvements over the recent years

A friend hosted her baby shower here. I'd never been before, but the space was huge and very clean. Perfect for kid and adult events, with a full kitchen

I could not find the bike trail. I saw signs for the "Trail" and "Trail parking" but once I got on my bike I couldn't find the trail. I downloaded the PDF map found on the website but I still couldn't find the trail from this location. I ended up riding out, then picking up the trail so where else.. 5220 Chairmans Ct, Frederick, MD 21703 (Right behind the kindercare place, beside the Chick Fil A) There is a parking lot, maps of the trail, bike racks and bike pump.

Great park - spacious fields, well maintained. The park has a lot of bathrooms and water fountains throughout. 3 separate spaces for dogs, community garden. About 1 mi loop for walking/running.
