In spite of a few comments about folks not picking up their pet's poop, our experience has been stellar. We enjoy the well attended dog park on the weekends and both early and late hours of the day. We have also appreciated the days when the dog park isn't as full so that our pup can continue getting adjusted to a new place without too much activity. But, of course the engagement with other dogs has been a really valuable experience for our oftentimes anxious/nervous young adult dog. We have only had positive experiences with the humans and their pups. Thus far, as new Richmond residents this is our favorite dog park to date.

We’ve been going here for a few months and have witnessed multiple highly aggressive dogs whose owners are regulars and seem to care little about anything besides their phones or the conversations they are having. We went today for the last time. The first incident was with a regular named Sheba who hung from another dogs tail as it owner held it in the air (the aggressor stayed while the injured dog left). The second instance involved my dog who is the sweetest and friendliest dog but just likes to run around. After being chased around A regular whose name I don’t know but is an Australian Shepard attacked my dog resulting in part of his shoulder ripped open which required many stitches and an expensive vet bill. Yet again the aggressive regular stayed, said nothing, and looked at me like I was an idiot for calling it out. If you have sweet pups you love and care for I recommend finding somewhere else for them to play. The atmosphere is toxic and this is probably the 10th incident I’ve either heard of or seen firsthand to happen in the last month.

I brought my spayed female dog to this park. A big bull dog picked a fight with her, and the owner of that dog didn't say a word. Meanwhile I'm calling out "get your dog", and the dog knocked me over. He still didn't call his dog, but slowly walked over. I asked him why he wasn't calling off his dog, to which he replied by accusing me of bringing in an unaltered male. I won't be going back.

I've been bringing both my pups here for about a year. This park is one of the places I'm going to miss when I leave RVA. The people are very nice, the dogs are wonderful and it's a great park. Plenty of places to sit and socialize. Water bowls are available. Both my pups love it here

The dog park itself is nice. Super spacious, lots of shade. A lot of people don't pick up their dogs waste however. Landmines as far as the eye can see. We'll stick to cleaner parks.
