I’ve been to this place during the day with my kids, and it is absolutely fantastic. It has a huge green meadow, beautiful Japanese gardens, and plenty of deer to watch. Everything is incredibly scenic and peaceful — a perfect way to spend time with kids and family. They also have a great play area, some cool animals, and lots of photogenic spots. I definitely recommend visiting! During the fall, they host a “Glow Night,” which was really awesome and such a fun experience.
Read more about MaymontI think this is the coolest park! Totally handicapped accessible for children! A fenced in park with plenty to keep kids busy and having fun! There are clean restrooms. My grands had a lot of fun here! And today the redbud trees were blooming!

Read more about Byrd ParkMy daughter’s wedding was nothing short of amazing. Swift Creek Banquet Hall was the perfect venue. My daughter fell in love with the space the moment we walked in to view it. It did not disappoint. Guests all commented on how beautiful it was, a hidden gem most people did not know existed here at Pocahontas State Park. We had a wonderfully blessed day. Rented space for two days to be able to get set up for the wedding the day before. I would definitely recommend this beautiful park to anyone looking for a venue that is fairly priced and beautiful. The ease of booking and the quality of service provided was excellent!
