I've shot family sessions, couples, and portraits here over the years and it never gets old. The views of downtown Richmond are unbeatable, especially around sunset when the light hits just right. It's one of those spots that looks amazing no matter the season. The park itself is small but that's actually perfect for photo sessions. You can move around quickly and get a ton of variety without wearing everyone out. Families with little kids especially appreciate that. Plus there's usually street parking nearby which makes it easy. As a Richmond photographer, this is hands down one of my favorite locations. The skyline backdrop is iconic and it photographs beautifully every single time. If you're looking for a spot that captures that classic Richmond vibe, this is it. Stephen Lawson Photography

I love the vibe of this park especially at night! Historic yet somehow it feels trendy. Definitely a place you must experience for yourself. A great Vista as you can see from my photos

The park has an amazingly beautiful view with well kept paths and ample parking for regular visits. I could see it getting crowded if a bunch of people showed up at a single time, but doubt that happens very often. I also love that the park is open after dark so we can see the night skyline over the city of Richmond. Beautiful spot. Will return.

This park is an absolute must-see! It offers a stunning view of both the river and the city skyline, the perfect spot to relax, reflect, or snap a few photos. There’s plenty of seating throughout, so it’s easy to find a peaceful place to sit and take it all in. Highly recommended!

Great location to view the sunset/ moon. Definitely recommend getting there at least an hour before sunset as parking is limited although there is street parking. Depends where you sit you have a vire of the city highrise or river as shown on the picture. Limited picnic tables, recommend bringing an outdoor blanket etc for comfort
