Really love and enjoy this portion of the field. The city of Thornton host many different activities throughout the year hear. From fireworks displays, concerts, Thorntonfest, car shows, winter festivals and the like. When nothing is going on its still a great place to come for a walk. They have many trails and rest areas. Most areas have accessible parking spots also. Highly recommend this area.
Me and my sister dressed up as spongebob and Patrick at Thornton winterfest on December 13th. It was fun and we took lots of pictures with people
It's really nice to go through the park and walk around the lakes on the sidewalks, sing the kids and sing all the birds. The grass is always nice year round
This review is more specific to the Thornton Winterfest that is held every year. Winterfest is always a great time every year. There are plenty of activities throughout the day and always a drone or fireworks show at least one of the evenings. It's been hosted by Brothers Plum, Heating & Electric for the last few years and they really do a good job with it. My only gripe is the vendors. It is very much priced for connivence. I would recommend eating or grabbing coffee or hot chocolate from home or even from Starbucks/Dutch Bros/Ziggies/etc. About $29 bucks for 4 small Swiss Miss hot chocolates. If you get marshmallows, you'll get about 6 or so small ones. At more than $7 a hot chocolate, go get something nice and bring it yourself. Everything else, I have no issues with. Bundle up and have fun!
Great open space! Run, walk, bike, scooters. 2 playgrounds, fishing. Indoor recreation center. Basketball, pickle ball, tennis, skateboarding.
