Cascades Gateway Park is a total hidden gem. Whether you’re here for the sports or the scenery, it’s easily one of the best spots in town. For the Disc Golfers: ⛓️🥏 This 18-hole course is an absolute blast, but be warned—it’s an advanced player’s heaven. There are a lot of long-bomber shots that really let you test your distance. It’s technical, well-laid-out, and stays challenging every time you play. Definitely not a basic "pitch and putt." Nature & Wildlife: 🦅 The birdwatching here is top-tier. I saw so many different species around Walter Wirth Lake. If you’re into photography or just want a scenic walk, the views are beautiful and very peaceful. Family & Pet Friendly: 🐕 The park has a great fenced-in dog park, plenty of picnic areas, and even some good fishing spots along the water. It’s a huge space with plenty of parking, so it never feels too crowded even on weekends. Check out my photos to see the course layout and some of the wildlife! Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the Salem area. 🙌🏼

All of the reviews on here seem to be old. I went just a few days ago, and it was wonderful! A great wildlife park with hardly any homeless people or trash that I could see. Such a large variety of wildlife! Would be great for anyone who likes taking photos of wildlife such as myself, or anybody interested in bird watching or fishing. Definitely would recommend! Very well managed.

Homeless have destroyed this park sadly, I love the fenced in dog park, but the gates are all broken and there's always trash and cigarette butts in the dirt inside the dog area. The parking area is trashed. The water is gross. I don't go past the dog park, so I have no comment on the playground. It used to be nice, but haven't been back by it in years

This park is beautiful. I grew up coming here and haven't been able to come since it was closed during the pandemic. I love seeing how clean and improved it looks. The wild life is enjoying this change. They also have a dog park at the entrance. They have a golf course too. I highly recommend it.

Ok the park isn't that great but we use the fenced in dog park often and we love it. Our dog has made a few friends. There's also a smaller fenced area and a larger fenced area together
