Very beautiful and peaceful park right in the heart of the city. Lots of shade and some water elements to add to the peaceful feeling.

Perfect park to start off your trail run into the mountains. There is a lot of elevation gain at the start but it is worth the sore legs once you get to the top. I would caution to stay on the trail, I ventured off on some side trails and ended up in a couple homeless encampments.

Year round access, lots of trees in the first mile or so, then typical foothill grassy and scrub oak landscape. Nice gradient to keep the heart rate going.

When you walk down from State Capitol Building to Temple Square, you'll see this quiet and beautiful park. When you're alone, be aware of those hobos inside the park.

Great place for dogs! Lots of dog owners go here. When we are there we saw many without leashes, which I would only recommend if your dog is well trained. Great paths through trees as you get further up the park. Can see Capitol some from park as well. Kids would love the water. Fairly shallow on most places.
