I visited from Florida to meet my long distance boyfriend for the first time. After ensign peak, this is the second trail he took me on. The park was beautiful, families having picnics, lovely memorials on the trail and so many dogs a long the trail as well. I’m from Florida so at most we have small hills, I’ve been on plenty of trails down here but nothing compares to Utah. The trails are so clean and well maintained. It made me appreciate Mother Nature so much more. There was a bunch of creeks with little waterfalls and even though they were tiny, I’d never seen a waterfall in my life so I was just in awe taking in all the gorgeous views. Saw many dogs jumping in the water, and running along the trail. Such divine nature, kind people, and the prettiest dogs of all different breeds. If you ever visit Utah I recommend this trail a long with ensign peak because they are definitely beginner trails. I’ll be back in November though and I am so ready to take on the harder trails and hikes. I really had so much fun! Thank you Utah for all your picture perfect views!
Read more about Memory GroveSooooo fun like the most fun! There’s a section for the pond/ lake area then the other side is grass for your pup to dry off. The only bad thing is that the edges of the pond can get steep and slippery. Kinda bad for your pup to get out
Read more about Willow Creek Dog ParkThe design of this park is great. The water basin gives good hills for running and biking. The pond is lovely. Having two playgrounds is great. But this is truly the worst cared-for park in the valley—and I would know, because we live a block away but end up driving all over the valley to avoid it. The spinning ball on the playground has been so badly in need of oil for over a year now that every parent wears out after only a few minutes. And both the ball and the swings make a terrible screeching sound. Everything needs some WD-40. The filth on the park is nasty. It looks like the dirty hands of kids for 15 years have never once been cleaned off. Everywhere the kids touch is black. But the worst part is that there are no garbages anywhere near the playgrounds. When my daughter was little, all she would do was toddle around picking up other people’s trash. People are clearly unwilling to either pack out their garbage, or carry it out to the parking lot and touch one of the big nasty lids to dispose of stuff. And clearly the only garbage plan—other than trucks in the parking lot—is for the wind to blow the trash all around. The parks department gets millions of dollars, but they can’t buy a single garbage can, some WD40, or send someone with a power washer once a year? It’s just gross. We go anywhere but. [Wish I’d have known that I could upload a video. I would have gotten one of the screeching swings and spinner.]
Read more about Sugar House ParkNice area for trail walking but it stinks. Very busy. Most areas are off leash friendly but lots of dog owners are not picking up after their pets. ...and there were LOTS of dogs. Most of the area stinks like ..well, dog 💩. Nice view. Finally got a photo of mountains without powerlines in it! A little too busy for my taste. Didn't stay long.
