So Rosewood Park is actually great, it’s probably the nicest park in the area. However, our elected officials ruin it for residents. I’ve lived in Fairpark for 4 years, and Cottonwood Dog Park isn’t always safe to use, for many reasons. Dog parks in general are somewhat “use at your own risk”, but that one is so much more dangerous. There’s homeless encampments, open air drug use, and just sketchier people who just come use it in general. I experienced borderline sexual assault there, which was my last straw for wanting to use it. There’s also entitled old people who think they own it, and bring aggressive dogs, sometimes unspayed and un-neutered. Rosewood is a great alternative, due to the amount of space and the half mile walking loop. In the two years I’ve been using it, I personally haven’t witnessed any aggressive dogs off their leash, just poor recall from Owners it anything. As of late, this is the only park in the area that’s getting heavily patrolled by Park Rangers, enforcing leash laws. The designated dog park area is a joke, there’s no grass. Three times since last April, the Rangers approach me and threaten to ticket for my dog (who I have control over) being off leash. They ask me to use Cottonwood, I voice my complaints, they throw their hands up and say they hear me, but there’s not much they can do. They claim they get calls, and a few people ruin it for everyone. It’s frustrating when the ethically bankrupt SLC Mayor, Erin Mendenhall has zero solutions for the West Side of SLC. Her developer husband builds all over North Temple, yet there’s nothing they can do about public safety. I’ve literally never witnessed the Rangers in Riverside, or anywhere else in the area. My dog is a high energy herding breed that needs to run, a walk doesn’t always cut it for her. I’m basically being punished as a dog owner who lives in this neighborhood for attempting to get my dog exercise, while the morally corrupt Erin Mendenhall does nothing, per usual. Dog owners beware. Your options in this neighborhood are few and far in between.

Love bringing my kids here and I can't wait for the ball diamonds to be done to go play baseball with the family.

Nice new pickleball courts, tennis court, skate park, playground, and large track with grass. The grass area is wide open. There is also a rock dog park.

Watched the Oct 14, 2023 solar eclipse from this park. Loads of mesquitoes but the eclipse was spectacular. It was very empty so we had the whole field to ourselves. All around a fun morning.

This is a fun little skate park located at the end of Rose Park. good variation of terrain and obstacles and suited for beginner intermediate skaters and scooter riders.
