Claude Howell Park is a small but symbolically important pocket park on Wilmington’s Riverwalk, created to honor local painter and arts advocate Claude Howell and to provide a bit of green respite along the redeveloped Cape Fear waterfront. Its story is tied both to Howell’s life in downtown Wilmington and to the broader transformation of the riverfront from working port to tourist and cultural corridor.

Cute little park at the entrance to the Wilmington boardwalk in Downtown Wilmington. Has a sign explaining the history and naming and a couple benches to sit on.
