We were very happy to see that the 2,000 year old native American burial Mount has been preserved and interpreted with signage. There is a paved walked path that encircles it. There are additional walking paths in Dames park, a couple of playgrounds, pavilions, ballfields, ample parking, and restroom facilities. Watch out for flooding when Peruque Creek rises.

One of the standout features is the one-mile asphalt loop (sometimes described as a figure-8 trail) for walking, jogging, or biking—it's paved, flat, easy, and well-kept, making it accessible for all ages and abilities.

It looks like a good park for sports and playgrounds. There is a 1-mile asphalt walking and biking path, which just goes around the fields, and is all in the open sun. With the sun reflecting off the pavement, it's pretty hot on a warm day. There is a smaller path near the playground that has better scenery and some shade, but it's not very long. There are shade pavilions for gatherings, or just to eat lunch.

When talking about which playground to go to with my kids we don't usually use the official name, we clarify like "the one with the big slide" or "the one with the spinning spider web". This one is " the one with a lot of monkey bars". It also has a log roller which is pretty unique. I love that it's surrounded by the forest and we saw a huge hawk last time we were there. If I had to say anything negative it would be in this wood surrounding next to the park there is an open area that goes towards a pretty steep drop off into a small river. For elementary size kids that's fine, but with a rascally toddler it was not ideal.

Awesome and huge park! Was out there for a temporary setup disc golf tournament for my daughter. Was a prime location for it, hopefully could be a permanent location for another disc golf course.... great area for it with tons of land!
