Convenient on/off the highway, the welcome center has lovely employees and clean restrooms! Also, they have a dog walk area, beautiful landscaping and architecture, true classic Virginia.

This is a very nice place to stop if you need a restroom; however, the last time we stopped, it was outside of their opening hours and the restrooms were locked. Prior to this, the restrooms were open even when the welcome center was closed. There was no good place to go as an alternative nearby, either.

After a long drive, I stumbled upon this spot while looking for a good place to eat and what a lucky find! I was warmly welcomed by Karen and Lesly, who were absolutely fantastic. They went above and beyond to help me out and truly nailed everything I needed. Once I shared my travel route, they jumped into action with brochures, local recommendations, and ideas for things to do both nearby and along my journey. They pointed me to a charming café called Crema & Vine, which turned out to be the perfect local lunch stop with delicious food, a relaxing vibe, and super friendly staff. They even gave me a walking tour guide of the downtown area, which was adorable and full of character. On top of that, they offered suggestions for my final destination that were spot-on. I’m so grateful to Karen and Lesly for turning a quick pit stop into a highlight of my trip. Their kindness and local insight made everything feel easy, fun, and memorable.

As a local, I have grave suspensions that this place isn’t quite what it seems. I have strong reason to believe that this “welcome center” is actually a cover for the mafia. The first thing that lead me to this conclusion is the “dog walking area”(pictured below) that I am 99.7% sure is a low budget grave yard. The second is the fact that there are multiple children imprisoned in the “snack area”(also pictured)?!???? Also why all the garbage, what could a “welcome center” possibly have to throw away in such quantities beside...I don’t know...I don’t want to know!!! If you go here be careful, that’s all I can say.
