I am writing this 4 months after boarding because we are finally done with going to the ER and vet. I boarded both of my dogs at Dog Dayze in the summer for almost a month. About two weeks in, I got a text message saying that one of my dogs eyes were swelling and could not open them. My initial response is to of course find out what happened and why I was notified so late at the point where he was struggling to keep them open. They told me they weren’t sure and that it was possible that he “pawed” at his eyes or that he got into some accidents with other dogs. I told them it was not possible that he pawed at them since my dog is 14 and we keep our dogs extremely clean (we clean their eyes and wipe them down daily). I told them wash them out case it was dirty and to give it a day but still no response as to why I was notified so late about this issue and not when they first started noticing minor swelling and redness. After a day, it was apparent that situation was worsening and that he needed to go to the ER. They brought him in and they gave us medication/antibiotics for damages to both corneas. He ended up going to the ER a total of 2 times before I made it home to get him. When I went to pick him up, I couldn’t help but cry because he looked so awful with indented circles in each of his eyes, couldn’t really open them to see me and noticed he couldn’t really hear me when I called for him. When I confronted them, they continued to tell me that “it just happens sometimes.” I immediately brought my dog to my own vet and they had confirmed that it was damaged from something scratching or poking the eye but that it was strange and coincidental that it occurred in both eyes. One eye was more severe and I was told that we may potentially lose that eye all together if situation persists and that there was a noticeable hearing issue with him. The vet also noted that because the eye had been damaged and inflamed, it is likely that the conditions of the place was unsanitary making it difficult for his eyes to heal. We upped the dosage of him medication and went to a specialist for other medication. After $3000 of vet visits and medication, we are lucky that his eyes are starting to look normal again, however he has definitely lost some of his eyesight as well as hearing since staying at Dog Dayze. I’ve attached pictures of when we were notified about his eye condition vs when I picked him up and brought him to the vet (in the cone). Edit: after seeing the response from the establishment, I would say regardless of what the routine was, if the staff was paying any sort of attention, his eyes would not have ever gotten this bad. I’ve left my dog with others for more than 2 weeks without wiping his eyes and he turned out fine every time (over 13 years of experience with this from this dog in particular).

I cannot recommend this doggie daycare enough. We have been bringing our dog, Callie, here for nearly four years. We started coming as soon as she was old enough, and we don't know what we would do without them. To the staff: You are the best. Thank you for taking such excellent care of our girl!

Dog Dayze is where we take our dog for daycare, boarding and grooming. It is a great place - spacious, clean and welcoming. Most of the personnel are courteous young girls and women who truly love dogs. Our dog is always excited to go there. Highly recommended.

We no longer live close to Dog Dayze, but if we did we would definitely still bring our Kevin. From the daily report cards to the photo dumps on Facebook at the end of the day, it was quite obvious that each dog got the attention they deserved. Our dog always came home exhausted. Wishing other dog day cares in my area could run as smoothly as Dog Dayze.

Dog Dayze has been an awesome resource as a new dog owner. I know that my dog is running around, socializing and having all her needs met while I’m a work. The team have been absolutely wonderful to work with and you can tell they get to know the dogs individually. She normally comes home Ready for a good nap after daycare!
