Great park we use daily but NO support from parks and rec with aggressive animals toward people. There’s one girl who has a dog that has aggressively ran at me and backed me up against the fence 6 times now until she gets it off me. Parks and rec tell me to instantly call animal control that is not open many times I am there or on weekends. Call and leave a message they say with no response. I shouldn’t have to leave because of one aggressive animal that has something against me when we get along with everyone else.

So happy that Lee’s Summit has a dog park! The park is nice and clean and open. Well-fenced. A couple of benches and a walking track. There did not seem to be water turned on for the dogs to use so bring your own water. There is a porta-potty for humans to use 😅. This is a great little spot to let your social dog run and play.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If heaven has a dog park, it probably looks a lot like Dogwood Park — minus the squirrels taunting your dog from the fence line. 🐿️ This place is dog paradise. It’s like Disneyland for canines — except the rides are other dogs running full speed in unpredictable directions. There’s room for fetch, zoomies, and whatever that sideways hop thing is my dog does when she’s showing off. It’s clean, safe, and well maintained — which, let’s be honest, is saying a lot when there are 47 dogs doing their business at any given time. The humans are friendly too (probably because our dogs have already broken the ice for us). If your pup has energy to burn or you just want to feel like a proud parent watching them live their best life, Dogwood Park is the spot. Bring water, a ball, and prepare to cancel your plans — because your dog’s not leaving willingly. 🐾

Very nice dog park. Unfortunately, it was a very hot day, and there weren't any other dogs there. But, my dog enjoyed going around the park and smelling all the funky smells left behind by his canine cousins.

It's a nice dog park, well maintained paths. The long stretches get pretty hot in the afternoon during the summer, so the better time to go is in the early to mid evening. The problem here is that there seems to be a lot of people that bring in untagged and uncut dogs into the park, which is against the rules for good reason. Almost every time I've been here, I'll see at least one fully intact male wandering the large dog park (this increases the chance of aggression and fights, which no one wants).
