"Section 9" is a one of jewels of Elysian Park. There are two children play areas (though both are a little old and small), a picnic area (which can be reserved), a grass soccer field, a restroom building, tennis courts, and lots and lots of open space and mature trees. Great part of the park to chill out and lay around in with plenty of open lawn areas to enjoy. Can get busy on the weekends (and during Dodger games of course).

This was a nice lazy hike not too hot not too many people and some nice views from the top.

What a great place for an early morning walk! Was there for a company picnic, plenty of space, just watch out for gopher holes😄 This in park is huge, so definitely check out the map👍

Pretty area plenty of parking but there are four porta potties with no toilet paper and they are disgusting. It's a spring weekend. All the points off are for that.

My brother took us here on our visit to LA. He comes running here several times a week. I definitely did not plan on running up the hill, but I thought it would be cool to see the entire city from the top. Boy was it ever cool! 360 views of LA! You definitely have to work for that view though. The trail is steep and rocky. If you are out of shape like me, you will most definitely be tired once you reach the summit. You may even be out of breath!
