I adopted an orphaned kitten "Ross" from Friendship APL a year ago and what an immersive experience. I visited the kitten dorm and was immediately greeted by a volunteer who handles / socializes the kittens and cats. She was so knowledgeable and gave me a personality background on each adoptee. The entire Staff is very friendly and it truly is a wonderful facility. Thankyou Friendship for all that you do to give hope and happiness to so many abused and abandoned animals.

I have so many lovely things to say about the Elyria APL. I came here in January of this year, 2026, after my beloved orange tabby passed away. I was looking for a lap cat, who could understand my feelings of loss and who could bring me newfound joy. First of all, the APL is so welcoming. The volunteers are so friendly and compassionate. And the facility is super clean. It's not like one of those shelters where you come in and everything smells like urine. This place is spotless. Anyway, I came in after having looked at the adoptable cats online, and fell in love with a brown tabby named Brownie. I don't know that I've ever had this happen before, but this sweet cat and I knew within minutes that we were meant for each other, and that we would change each other's lives. I could tell that somebody loved her very much, and that the folks at the APL were also very sweet to her. I have had Brownie (now Bronwyn) for a little over a month now, and she is truly a ray sunshine in my life.

This is Hopper. When we rescued him his name was Eugene. He turned one on the 20th of February. And I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for Giving me the best fur baby a girl could ask for. He really is my best friend and stays right by my side 24 seven. Very blessed to have him. And thankful to Freindship animal protective League

Adopted a puppy from here 14 years ago, have participated in fundraising over the years and now volunteering and fostering and truly everyone here has hearts of gold. The animals are treated so well and truly loved by the staff and volunteers. The facility is kept clean and pretty well organized. The staff are friendly and patient with new volunteers and immediately welcome you in.

Today, I adopted a pet from FAPL for the third time. As many reviewers have stated, the people here are dedicated, loving, and knowledgeable. It’s clear that the animals there receive the best of care while waiting for their forever home. This is Denali, the Alaskan Malamute I adopted today. I could type all night about what an amazing gentleman he is. But I’ll let the pictures speak their thousand words.
