This is our favorite trail to walk because of the location and peacefulness, and it used to have a darling little playground for my kids to play that blended in so well with the natural surroundings. The playground has now been “updated” and it is absolutely unusable for a child under 6. There’s a giant rope climbing monstrosity in the middle which younger kids cannot access, a slide (with no steps, so if you can’t maneuver the ropes it also cannot be used) and two swings- one regular swing and one handicapped swing. Both baby swings have been eliminated. As a parent of small children including a baby and a special needs child, the park isn’t just unusable- it’s unsafe.

I talked to a guy at the park district and they said they would look into getting baby swings (they removed both). The guy said he would get back to me. I am still waiting several months later. A simple phone call telling me it isn’t possible would have been nice.

Cutest little hidden gem playground ever! Regular swings, baby swings, 3 slides, a treehouse, benches to sit on and a boardwalk trail to take a stroll. Oh, and TONS of trees= lots of shade! Highly recommended!

Great little natural wetlands to walk your dogs. Doggie cleanup bags are provided so that the Wetlands can stay waste free. The path isn't really bike safe but it a nice place to rollerblade in the warmer months. The Gazebo is nice for a picnic and there's a few good spots to take the kids fishing. It's a nice sanctuary away from the hustle of the Bolingbrook Promenade.
