THERE IS A SMALL DOG PARK AND A BIG DOG PARK HERE AND THEY ARE OPEN AS OF DECEMBER 2025! The ground is wood chips/bark. They are much bigger than the Gresham Main Street dog park. There is also a nice paved trail around the complex if your dog doesn’t feel like socializing. There is water available, but it may be turned off currently (there’s even little doggie drinking fountains). There are fantastic outdoor pickle ball courts, several softball fields (fully fenced/locked right now), a sand volleyball court, a small playground, and endless grassy soccer fields. There are water fountains/bottle refill stations and bathrooms, but they were closed on the Saturday afternoon we went. Big, beautiful complex, though it may get warm in the summer because there are currently no trees for shade.

It is a "sports park" but we like to bring our boy here so he can sniff & do some walking. He gets a bit frazzled by other dogs & sometimes there are a bunch here but we can usually steer clear & still let our boy enjoy himself.

Simple, open, and very spacious park. Gorgeous sunsets and view of Mt Hood. Peaceful walking space. Great for picnics, sports, dogs, kids, or all at once. Enough room for anybody and everybody!

Gradin Community Sports Park in Gresham isn't just a place to kick a ball or swing a bat; it's an evolving testament to community vision and the power of green space. While many sports parks focus solely on fields, Gradin offers a surprisingly nuanced experience that caters to more than just athletes. What truly sets Gradin apart is its integration with the Gresham Arboretum. This isn't your typical barren sports complex; instead, a mile-long paved path meanders around the perimeter, showcasing a thoughtful collection of trees that thrive in the local climate. It's a brilliant design choice that elevates the park beyond its primary function, offering a peaceful, shaded escape for walkers, joggers, and nature enthusiasts. You can enjoy a vigorous game of soccer on one of the well-maintained fields, then cool down with a stroll through a living museum of local flora – a rare and delightful combination. And if you're visiting in 2025, you'll be witnessing a park in its exciting next phase. The ongoing expansion, including new fields, an amenity plaza with pickleball and basketball courts, new restrooms, and even a dog park, speaks volumes about the city's commitment to creating a truly comprehensive recreational hub. It's not just about adding more space; it's about diversifying the offerings and ensuring that Gradin serves a wider range of community needs and interests. While construction might temporarily alter the experience, the anticipation of what's to come adds an extra layer of uniqueness. Gradin Community Sports Park isn't a static entity; it's a dynamic, growing space that embodies Gresham's dedication to active living, community gathering, and the beauty of its natural surroundings. It's a place where the thrill of competition meets the tranquility of nature, and where the future promises even more opportunities for connection and enjoyment.
