Herbert Hoover Park

Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, this park provides a serene and inviting environment for visitors of all ages. The park is beautifully landscaped with well-manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, and towering trees that provide ample shade on sunny days. The well-maintained grounds create a peaceful ambiance and make it an ideal spot for picnics, leisurely walks, or simply enjoying a good book on one of the many benches available. The park features a range of amenities that cater to different interests and activities. For fitness enthusiasts, there are several sports fields and courts, including tennis and basketball, where you can engage in friendly matches or get a good workout. There's also a well-equipped playground area, complete with swings, slides, and climbing structures, ensuring that children have plenty of options to keep them entertained. One of the highlights of Hoover Park is its expansive dog park. As a dog lover, I was thrilled to see a dedicated space for our furry friends. The dog park is thoughtfully designed, with separate areas for small and large dogs, and it offers ample room for them to run and play freely. The park is clean, and there are waste disposal stations available throughout, ensuring a pleasant experience for both dogs and their owners. The park's location in Palo Alto is an added advantage. It is conveniently situated near residential areas, making it easily accessible to local residents. Parking is also readily available nearby, ensuring a hassle-free visit. While the overall experience at Hoover Park was highly enjoyable, there were a few minor drawbacks. The restroom facilities were decent but could benefit from more regular maintenance to ensure cleanliness. Additionally, the park could offer more shaded areas, especially near the playground, to provide relief from the sun during hot summer days. All in all, Hoover Park in Palo Alto is a wonderful outdoor space that offers a wide range of activities for individuals and families alike.

Excellent farmers market on Sundays! The vegetables and fruits at every stand look fresh and they have free samples of everything. The people are all very friendly and ready to answer any questions about their products. There was every kind of fruit that you can imagine and then some. There were bakery items that looked amazing. There were fresh fish, oysters, all kinds of meats and cheeses and lots of different kinds of beautiful flowers. Very impressive place to be on a Sunday! Highly recommend a visit here if you like fresh farmers market foods.

Quaint little park which has nice grass to have a picnic on and tennis courts. Also had a dog park which is the primary reason I went here. The dog park is completely sand but has a nice amount of shade due to several trees. Also wasn’t very crowded - I live far away from here but if I’m ever in the area I would bring my dog back here.

Medium sized neighborhood park, mostly for nearby residents. Off-leash dog area is on the south side of the park. Neighbors will call the police to report off-leash dogs in other parts of the park. There is a public restroom. Baseball field, basketball court, and tennis courts in the back. Two separate play areas for little kids and bigger kids. Picnic tables near the street. No parking lot, but free street parking.

Tennis: 2 great quality courts, but NO lights. There's also a hitting wall with 3 sides
