What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
Large lush green park with multi sport grass and turf fields, tennis courts and a running track. There are also some bars for exercising. Located near the Cubberley Community Center it shares a large parking lot and there is some street parking. The restroom facilities are also well maintained. It’s frequently used for classes and soccer matches but has enough space for multiple teams to be playing at the same time.
Read more about Mitchell ParkAbsolutely no shade. The park has long stretches of walking trails on top of small network of hillocks right by the backwaters. On hot days you have no shade - and the gravely top on the trails radiates heat. And the whole area can get breezy so not great for winters either. So pick your timing carefully. A few public art features (chevrons and the windwanes) are interesting. Big plus, you could sit there and watch the small planes land into the airport - nice past time for unplugged evenings. The chevrons, I think, are there to guide the planes into the airport, but that’s my theory.

It also looked not too close to major roads so , it is not noisy. The drinking water was not working, so bring your own water bottle. There are swings and basketball courts, so might have some fun
Read more about Peers ParkNestled in a quiet neighborhood, this park provides a serene and inviting environment for visitors of all ages. The park is beautifully landscaped with well-manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, and towering trees that provide ample shade on sunny days. The well-maintained grounds create a peaceful ambiance and make it an ideal spot for picnics, leisurely walks, or simply enjoying a good book on one of the many benches available. The park features a range of amenities that cater to different interests and activities. For fitness enthusiasts, there are several sports fields and courts, including tennis and basketball, where you can engage in friendly matches or get a good workout. There's also a well-equipped playground area, complete with swings, slides, and climbing structures, ensuring that children have plenty of options to keep them entertained. One of the highlights of Hoover Park is its expansive dog park. As a dog lover, I was thrilled to see a dedicated space for our furry friends. The dog park is thoughtfully designed, with separate areas for small and large dogs, and it offers ample room for them to run and play freely. The park is clean, and there are waste disposal stations available throughout, ensuring a pleasant experience for both dogs and their owners. The park's location in Palo Alto is an added advantage. It is conveniently situated near residential areas, making it easily accessible to local residents. Parking is also readily available nearby, ensuring a hassle-free visit. While the overall experience at Hoover Park was highly enjoyable, there were a few minor drawbacks. The restroom facilities were decent but could benefit from more regular maintenance to ensure cleanliness. Additionally, the park could offer more shaded areas, especially near the playground, to provide relief from the sun during hot summer days. All in all, Hoover Park in Palo Alto is a wonderful outdoor space that offers a wide range of activities for individuals and families alike.
