Hobson Freedom Park has a lot going for it if you're looking for space to let your dog run. This park is huge—seriously, it’s one of the biggest dog parks I’ve been to, which is refreshing compared to the cramped, fenced-in spaces you often see elsewhere.
There’s a main entrance that leads to two separate sections:
The small dog area is to the right and has one bench under an awning.
The large dog area is straight ahead and has two benches with awnings.
In the main area just outside the fenced zones, there are two picnic tables, a trash can, multiple waste bag stations, and a porta-potty. The entrance is paved with concrete, while the parking lot is a mix of grass and loose rocks.
One frustrating feature is the watering station. It’s located outside the dog park, so if you want to give your dog water, you’ll need to bring a bowl, exit the fenced area, fill up, and bring it back in. Sometimes the pump works, but as of May 13th, it wasn’t functioning.
The field itself is fantastic for dogs that need room to burn off energy. They can run far, chase balls, or just explore freely. However, the park does hold moisture for days after rain, and there are several low-lying areas that collect water and become muddy pits. There are also a few deep holes scattered throughout that could be risky for dogs sprinting full-speed.
The biggest downside is the lack of responsibility from other dog owners. Nearly every time I visit, I see piles of dog poop scattered all over the place—dozens of them in both the small and large dog areas. This is despite the fact that there are plenty of waste bag stations, trash cans, and even a rake and scoop option. It's frustrating and makes the park feel neglected.
Mowing also seems inconsistent. Sometimes the grass gets so high it feels like you're tiptoeing through a field. It can be tough to even see where your dog has gone to the bathroom, let alone clean it up.
Pros:
Huge space for dogs to run
Separate areas for small and large dogs
Shaded benches for humans
Waste stations, picnic tables, and a porta-potty available
Cons:
Many owners don't pick up after their dogs
Water pump is outside the park and not always working
Park retains water and can become muddy
Large holes throughout the park
Grass often gets overgrown before mowing
This park has great potential and can be a lot of fun for the dogs. With more consistent maintenance and more responsible dog owners, it could be a top-tier dog park. For now, it’s worth the visit—but come prepared.

It’s clean, safe neighborhood park with updated equipment for children and adults. Our kids really enjoyed in this cute little park. There is no trees but nice park for soccer. Open grassy areas and walking sidewalks.

Very nice space. About a 300 yard by 100 yard area that is open with many soccer goals lining the field. THe day i was ther eis was wide open and my dog and I have a good walk. There is a track area around the whole park. lOOKS TO BE ABOUT A ONE MILE ROUND.
Also a playground apart from the field. huge parking areas. Very well kept.
