What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
Sadly the nature reserve has not completely recovered from the EF-3 tornado that ripped through here a few years back. Over 900 trees were removed after the catastrophic effect that the reserve suffered. Park still adequate for visiting families. The play space is great for the kids, and a variety of short trails makes it a good local getaway place for the region.
Read more about Russ Nature ReserveWe love coming to this playground when we’re visiting the area. A lot of fun for all ages and is pretty wheelchair accessible as well!
Read more about Owen's Place ParkSadly EF3 tornado damage 6 years ago destroyed so much of this great reserve. Coming back from that extreme loss of trees will take years to recover. However, what remains is quite adequate and for families with young children is a great place to visit. The playgrounds are certainly fun, and the short trail are easy to do. It is not sufficient for real hiking, you would have to patchwork 6-8 separate trails just to make it real hike. A great place for a family picnic though.
