Good dog friendly park that’s tucked away in a neighborhood. There’s plenty of street parking, a children’s playground, picnic tables, restrooms, trash/recycle and even a small basketball court. There’s are a few trails to choose from. We started walking the one right past the bathrooms but it leads to another neighborhood, and same with Creek Overlook Trail leading to Monterey Ct. We turned back and walked the Salson Trail Upper Creek. Once it started going uphill the bushes were more overgrown so we turned back. All in all went spent about an hour and walked roughly 2 miles. Saw a tiny snake but no coyotes, though there are signs. Nice little hike and area.

Nice park in San Mateo, as it has something for all age groups. Well-maintained playground for young kids, grill area for a birthday party, and a large flat field for sports or a picnic. Plus some decent hiking trails with a panoramic view at the top. Clean bathrooms by the playground area. Parking on the street can be difficult to find on the weekends.

This park is a valley type. We love the playground and always take our kids and dogs (yes it’s dog friendly which is amazing) there. It also has a kids friendly hiking tail-not too steep or rocky. In summer this place is a must go as the valley makes it cool down at the playground. The big grass area is a perfect place for picnic. And my kids love climbing the huge tree next to it. Great park overall

It is what it’s described, the largest park in San Mateo. The entire park covers one high hill. There are multiple entryways, but the most common one is starting at the playground with restrooms and BBQ area. After that, it’s adult’s mission to hike all the way to the top of the hill for the majestic views people claimed. Since this is open nature, so the trails can get extremely muddy after the rains. We waited for a whole day after and the path was still very sloppy. But, that’s what nature is. And, there’s a lot of wild flowers, plants and BUGS!!! We were contained with the playground and the view at the bottom ourselves.

This little park in the middle of the San Mateo is good option for a little hiking. The park is well maintained and clean. It does have clean bathrooms, and parking is easy to find on the streets nearby. The forest is very scenic and during the hiking we have very nice views. Dogs are allowed. I high recommend.
