Newark Dog Park is such a great neighborhood spot! It’s conveniently located right next to the tennis courts and community garden, which gives the whole area a really welcoming, community feel. The park itself is clean, well-maintained, and has plenty of space for dogs to run and play safely. The people who come here are friendly and respectful, which makes the experience even better — both for the dogs and their owners. If you’re looking for a nice, easygoing place to let your pup burn off some energy while meeting other friendly locals, this park is a gem.

This is a nice little dog park with separate small/large dog areas. There is a small gazebo with lighting and several benches for seating. Solar motion-activated lights help visibility at night. There's also a water fountain and hose for filling drinking bowls if you have a thirsty pup.

Well maintained fenced gravel dog park. No big and small dog partition, just one park. It's in a nice community park near American University.

Has stuff for infant up to idk probably 10 years old. Modern and close to a grocery store. Some shade, lots of sun. Really busy around 3pm

I don't know why they have gravel instead of grass. The concrete sidewalks leading up to it were cool enough to not burn my dog's feet (the temps was in the 70s), so I thought the gravel would be the same temperature. So my dog and I stepped into the park and she was acting like her feet hurt. I put my hand down onto the gravel to feel it and it was too hot for my dog's feet! I was already apprehensive about the gravel being rough and sharp, but in addition it gets hotter than the sidewalks! No wonder there were no other dogs there! Please replace the gravel with grass! In addition, I then took my dog for a walk along 39th St. and when I came back to the dog park area and where my car was parked, I saw 2 very shady and thug looking young men go up to the park and jumped over the fence and were looking around. It appears that they were up to no good. Thank goodness my car was close by so I got in quickly and my husband and I quickly drove away. So safety is a concern too.
