Newtown Park is truly the crown jewel of Johns Creek—it offers something spectacular for every age and interest, making it an essential community gathering spot.
The highlights for us are the incredible amenities. The Newtown Dream Dog Park is easily one of the best in the state (and was recently ranked highly by USA Today!), featuring artificial turf, water features, and separate areas for small and large dogs to play safely. For humans, the two miles of walking trails are perfect for a scenic stroll or run, and the sheer number of courts—from tennis and basketball to bocce and six dedicated pickleball courts—means there's always an athletic activity to jump into.
Beyond sports, the park serves the whole community beautifully. You have the Veterans Memorial Walk for quiet reflection and the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater for hosting fun events like the Summer Concert Series. With excellent playgrounds for kids and the Park Place Senior Center nearby, it’s a space where multiple generations can enjoy the outdoors at the same time. One of my absolute favorite dog parks in this part of town. It’s a beautiful park and there’s usually lots of activities going on around.
Should I ever get the chance to move closer to this park? I definitely will. I always enjoy the atmosphere and friendly people.

Newtown Park is one of the best community parks in the Johns Creek area. It’s beautifully maintained, with plenty of green space, shaded walking trails, and well-kept sports fields. I really enjoy the peaceful atmosphere — perfect for a morning walk, an afternoon picnic, or just relaxing outdoors.
The park has great amenities, including a large playground, dog park, amphitheater for events, and even community gardens. It’s very family-friendly and feels safe and welcoming. Parking is easy, and the layout makes it convenient to get around.
Whether you’re here for exercise, fresh air, or community events, Newtown Park is a gem that truly brings people together.
They host Battle at the Creek in August. It’s a CrossFit competition.

Large park filled with trails and courts, including 2 basketball, 4 tennis, 4 baseball, 6 pickleball, and 5 soccer, and 1 lacrosse field. Kid friendly and dog friendly.

Newtown Park is one of the reasons we moved to John's Creek! I love hearing different languages on the playground - the park is as diverse in its visitors as it is in its offerings. From one of the best dog parks in the nation, to a recreation center that is used by all ages - this park is one of the best in North Atlanta. We love the walking & biking trails, soccer field, performance stage and clean bathrooms. Weather you are a family with kids or looking for a place to get outside, Newtown Park has something for everyone!
