Nice open area for the dog to run around. We saw a dog here and there. We went along the trails that’s right next to the dog park that was decent. I would recommend you bring a water bottle for your bud as there is no well or fountain in the area.

Let me start with the good. Compared with Mutt Run, there seems to be less mud and the inclusion of a disc golf course makes it more fun to spend time at if you aren't entertaining a canine companion. However, there are no fenced areas (Riverfront is primarily a nature preserve that happens to allow dogs so people feel better supporting its continued existence). The bathroom is a porta potty whereas Mutt Run uses an incinerating toilet (at least judging from the vent on the outside). Also the mosquitoes are miserable for human and dog alike (my dog is treated with a mosquito preventative) and while citronella is a common mosquito repellent it is also extremely offensive to dogs. My dog is just over 7 months and has been trained in several environments, but the smells are so distracting even luring with meat resulted in poor obedience. Since my dog was so poorly behaved, I never found a designated off leash area.

This is a great open space for dogs to run off leash. It is not fenced.

Beautiful area to exercise the pup and take a walk. Watch out for poison ivy along the trails in the summer. Aside from the boat ramp, we didn't find easy river access?
