I think this is the BEST dog park in Olympia!! Would be nice if the city could be on time on the weekends! It says open 7:30 everyday yet I think the ones who are responsible for opening on the weekends tend to sleep in and sometimes don’t show up until after 8?!? Us dog owners depend and enjoy bringing our pups to play before heading to work. Consistency would be nice. Might I add it’s not just an every now and again they don’t show up to open it’s every weekend they don’t open until 8!

Keep your dog on a leash for 2 minutes to assess who's in the park on the big dog side first...some folks dont care if there dog attacks yours. Other than that the park is perfect for high energy dogs.

Nice park for dogs to run. Two areas (Small dogs and not-so-small dogs). Both have benches and chairs plus water bowls. Dog waste bags are at the entrance for the considerate/responsible owners. Sadly, there is no facility for the owners to relieve themselves. There is no water plumbing so my thanks to those who provide doggie drinking water.

I've been super excited about the park opening, it's nice to not only have the Hawks Prarie location to take our dogs. Lots of great space to run around, parking is so so though. I wish they would have put a water spigot for the dogs and a garbage can inside, not just in the gated area. A couple obstacle events or tunnels would be great as well for the dogs. A port a potty would be fabulous as well, but if the idea is to have people stay till they need to use a restroom it works. I give a 4 only because of the lack of bathroom/port a potty or water for the dogs. But overall a great new spot and local area we can walk to from our house if we so wanted!

The park is a good place but I would be careful with one lady. She asked me to walk my dog away from the gate before she came into the off leach area. I took my dog and walked away. At this point her brindle colored pit mix attacked my dog. It kept attacking my dog even with five people helping me. I got my dog in my car and she basically blamed my dog and drove off. I would not allow her dangerous dog around any other dog. She basically admitted that she had her dog fixed because of his aggressive behavior in the past at the same time saying that he never attacked anyone before. But she asked me to keep my dog away from her dog in the off leach area and blamed me for allowing her dog to attack my dog.
