This is a lovely park with a great view of Georgetown Lake. I’m not sure how other reviews have mentioned swimming because we saw a lot of no swimming and no diving into the lake signs. There is a fishing area and we also saw people fishing along the stone/cliff shore of the lake. It is, of course, dog friendly with dogs on leash. We walked about a mile on the trail along the lake, also spotted several hawks. Parking lot is small. There are restrooms near the Goodwater Loop trailhead.

I think it's a great outdoor park. Lake is wonderful, agreed to shoreline is fairly easy, hiking trail around the lake is great, paved trail to dam is short and good, great views from dam and often wildlife, test rings have always been accessible and clean, benches and such are good. It's not a park with swing sets and pavilions for kid's parties and such like that, but it's also not a high adventure rugged park. It fits neatly in a good middle area. The reason for for starts is that while parking is good it's rather limited, and the park is only open dawn to dusk and no weekends.

With today's weather being cooler and cloudy, I decided to go somewhere for hiking. A nearby spot Overlook Park was selected since it offered a decent hiking distance plus a water view. The park is relatively clean well maintained; there's sign of some construction going on but not messy. At the restroom I headed down toward the lake; the view was nice and the cooler breeze on the face was pleasant beyond words. I continued exploring the opposite of the Dam but decided turn around as the trails was getting narrowed but the tall grass. I headed back to the Dam to snap some pictures. Total distance covered was a little over 3 miles but it was a lot of fun. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I enjoyed this park. Great view of the lake. Awesome place to go swimming, fishing , hiking or boating. The lake is large. Various areas to park and pull up to the water. Plenty of parking space available. Bathrooms available for use. Shaded area to get cooled down from the sun.

Can someone update the hours or when you’re open or closed actually ? Every time I have gone lately it’s been closed. It’s Sunday around 1PM and closed again. I don’t understand, there is no rhyme or reason for when the park is open or closed. Maybe communicating that with the community would help.
