Such a fun and surprisingly charming stop! Prairie Dog Town is one of those simple, unexpected experiences that ends up being a highlight of the day. Watching the prairie dogs pop in and out of their burrows, stand up on their hind legs, and interact with each other is endlessly entertaining and honestly so cute. It’s a great place to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and just smile for a bit. Perfect for families, kids, visitors to Lubbock, or anyone who loves quirky local attractions. We could have stayed watching them for hours. If you’re in Lubbock, don’t miss this — it’s wholesome, fun, and totally worth the stop!

What a lovely little prairie dog habitat in the middle of a park. Not very big but alot of prairie dogs were out and weren't afraid of humans so you could watch them. Super fun!

the prairie dogs are sooo cute!! there were plenty to see!! you can apparently feed them vegetables also (: just a note: if you're directing here using google maps, it will take you to the golf course. once you get to the park area, just follow the sign for the prairie dog area and you will find it!!

If you like Prairie dogs this is a great place. Actually all the suround8ng parks have plenty of Prairie dogs. Lighting for pics is best at sunset for the city, it will ve behind you as you face the city. Free admission and plenty of parking.

I took my daughter to Prairie Dog Town on a whim, not expecting much at all, and it completely blew us away. The prairie dogs were everywhere, popping in and out of their burrows, chirping, and interacting with each other. They were absolutely adorable and so much fun to watch. What I thought would be a quick stop turned into one of the highlights of our trip. It is simple, free, and unexpectedly charming. If you are in Lubbock, do yourself a favor and go. It is worth every minute.
