Beautiful island park in Washington DC - home to the RI Parkrun! At one stage on the island the walkway goes onto wooden slats just like you're walking across a mangrive swamp or one of those walkways in the Seychelles. Amazing place and one of the best parkruns I've done

The free lot had ample parking and was easy to get to. The park trails are all well kept and wide enough for a few people to walk side by side. The trails are very flat and easy, with few small hills. The Teddy Roosevelt monument area was impressive, and generally well hidden by the trees if you were not very close to it. Some of the signs and placards need replacing, as they were in poor condition.

I recently hiked this beautiful and peaceful trail, and it was an amazing experience. The trail forms a complete loop and is perfect for hiking, walking, or running. For most of the way, it runs alongside water, adding to the serene atmosphere. One of the highlights is a bridge that reminds me of the marshes in Louisiana, providing a unique and picturesque view. The trail is well-maintained and includes resting benches at intervals, which are great if you need a break. Given the length of the trail, I highly recommend bringing water to stay hydrated. Overall, it’s a fantastic trail that offers both tranquility and scenic beauty.

Great little refuge from the hustle and bustle. Take a hike around the loop. Best to be with a friend, however. There can be a "shady" factor occasionally. Lots of deer. Great boardwalk out back in decent shape, but most of walk is dirt and gravel. Might be too rough for average wheelchair. Good views of Georgetown and the Key Bridge. Parking can be tough if it's really nice out. You can only access off of GWParkway going Northbound. You can park up in Rosalyn and walk down a couple of blocks over a pedestrian bridge. Dog on the leash w/ your own poop bags... Great walk.

The park has nice, easy trails suitable for any runner. Can be a bit muddy at times, but nothing too bad. Boardwalk was really nice.
