Visited with my family on January 4, 2026. Runyon Canyon Park is one of the best hiking spots in Los Angeles. The trail offers great views of the city, and from certain points you can see Downtown LA, Griffith Observatory, and even the Hollywood Sign from a unique perspective. The terrain goes downhill first and then climbs back up, which can be a bit challenging but still very manageable for most people. Just make sure to carry water, especially on sunny days. Whenever I’m in Los Angeles, this is a hike I never miss.

Incredible views and even better hike there is two paths you could take both are very scenic and incredible views that you cannot see anywhere else. There are steep climbs and also easy crimes. You can choose whatever you would like. Both are pretty fun. I heard the whole truck goes in the loop, but I came down and went around both places going up.

Great local fitness place, not many tourists, alot of beautiful fit people. Paved road all the way to the top except some people opt for a dirt track. I would bring trail shoes as the dirt is loose and slippery plus your shoes will get very dusty and dirty. The path is very steep so you feel it up and coming down. There is water stations along the way but recommend bringing your own. There are no toilets on the mountain and not much shade so recommend sunscreen.

Excellent hike with beautiful views, a must do if it's your first visit to LA. There's a pretty steep part, but it's not too bad. Parking can be a real pain, especially on weekends. There are bike stalls (see photo).

A wonderful place. A few years ago I lived not far from this park and used to hike here often. How nice it is to relive that experience! It’s definitely one of the coolest places in LA.
