We went mostly for an new area to walk and it didn't disappoint. We got a nice walk in and found out all about the different areas of Slater Park. It was a lot bigger than we thought with two ways to drive into the park. A nice lake area, Carousel that was operational, a historic farm house museum that wasn't open (they had a number to call for hours). Walking and biking trails.

This is a great park to walk and relax. I see a few negative reviews. This park like most places will get busy during summer nights and weekends. For the most part, Slater Park is a beautiful place to be. I try to get my walks in early. I was there the last two evenings and it was peaceful. There are now two speed bumps which have been effective to eliminate speeding cars. Love this park.

I have been coming here since I was a kid and my fur kid LOVES it here. There are so many nice and safe places to walk all around the park so I frequent here often with the pups. I love the 10 mile river walk and bike path they have in the park and Leia loves the side trails surrounding it. We try to stick to those trails because they are so peaceful and comforting but when we're in a rush, we usually stick to the dog park or to doing loops in and around the park. There are many things to do here but the trails by far, are my favorite and you can easily access them on the bike path. On a side note, I love the old school carousel when she's up and running. I even go on rides as an adult because it reminds me of the good moments I had as a child at this park. My favorite animal to ride is the dog of course! Stop into the mini zoo they have as well with the goats and Guinea hens, it's adorable to see the kiddos reactions to the animals and it may just make you happy to see them as well.

Pawtucket’s version of Roger Williams Park, Slater is a nice place to take a walk, have a family outing, or just enjoy the outdoors. There’s a multitude of trails throughout, although some can retain quite a bit of water after rainstorms. The pond in the middle of the park is quite beautiful and attracts a lot of fishers, although I doubt they end up getting too many bites. The Ten Mile Greenway runs on the eastern edge of the park, so it could be a good place to start off a longer bike ride. There’s also a popular carousel, a dog park, and some concession stands.

Hidden treasure! Such a beautiful park which keeps all ages engaged. Be it an active kid or who loves rock climbing or a toddler to play in the swing or an elderly person who just likes to get some fresh air, this park is so big that we never thought it has so many things inside.
