Great brand new dog park. I went to this dog park to see it for myself and was absolutely amazed. It has sections for large and small dogs, water fountains, picnic areas, one of which has a grill, and also areas that provide shade. It's great to finally have these types of amenities on this side of the Anacostia.

Broken gate on the large dog side… dangerous traffic… lots of dog poop…

This park is awesome!! Sadly our dog has never actually met another dog here, but she loves coming and hope we will meet some new fur-iends soon!

I really want to give this dog park five stars, because there is finally a dog park in my neighborhood, it is big and really nice. I was among those who advocated for this park and who signed petitions so that we could have a nice dog park east of the river. My first visit there was great! However, my second visit was not so great. Evidently, there was a doggie wedding inside the park. The hosts left behind pieces of balloon, hard plastic with peanut butter in it, popsicle sticks, streamers , and napkins. The balloons and hard plastic pose the most danger to dogs. Please do not allow these kinds of items in the park. The whole point of a dog park is for our pets to have a place to play freely and safely. Events like this are well meaning but without oversight and diligent follow up with cleaning, it does more harm than good.
