This is the city of Thornton's third recreation center. Trail Winds is more modern and offers a great deal of classes and courses like the other two facilities. As soon as you walk in you eyes are transfixed on the climbing tower near the entrance. The facility is spacious and inviting. The ladies at the welcome desk are awesome. They offer tours or allow you to walk about independently. There are two floor, with the exercise equipment upstairs as well as a walking/running track. They have personal trainers (for a fee) and different dance and exercise classes. Most are posted at the particular areas. They offer daycare but one must inquire about pricing. This is really a great facility that serves the northern portion of Thornton.

The pool is fantastic for kids, but the front desk needs improvement. One staff member (kid/boy dark curly hair, glasses) was clearly disengaged, making check-in difficult and unpleasant, even for our child. More focused customer service training would really lift the overall experience

This is very well done. I am very excited and can't wait to go there. The gym facilities are awesome. They have efficiently taken use of every inch of the building to have a variety of services. This is a great addition to our city. I'm even surprised to see they even have a pre School. There is something you can participate for all age groups.

Detailed pool review: As a mom of children aged 3-9 who I was unsure if there was appropriate pools for them. Short answer, yes! There are multiple pools here. A walk in kiddie pool with a slide and multiple fountains A 3.5ft to 4.8ft pool attached to a lazy river and the kiddie area via a walk way A lazy river with several seating areas to rest in A wellness pool (warmer water. Very nice but with a max capacity of 20) A deeper pool with basketball hoops A diving area (no board) A hot tub Two slides, one you can use intertubes in. Additionally the locker rooms are very very nice with spacious lockers and well thought out, not like the maze of some locker rooms. And as another user pointed out the lifeguards are very diligent placed in multiple locations walking around not seated. I think we’ll be visiting this place several times a month at least.

My mom went to one pilates class and came home crying. The instructor singled her out to the entire class for not being flexible enough to do an exercise correctly. The instructor then proceeded to tell her if she couldn’t do it correctly then she shouldn’t do it at all and sit out. Safe to say she won’t be going back because she made my mom feel like crap! I would just like to remind that instructor that she works at a rec center, not a military base.
