Nice place to bring the family especially if there's activities.
Read more about Fowler ParkGreat hiking area near Glendale Az. The Pinnacle Peak trail was easy to navigate and well marked. Not particularly challenging but nice inclines and elevation. When I got to the 1st peak it was before sunrise but the lights of the city were a beautiful site.
Read more about Thunderbird Conservation ParkFascinating! Lovely and quiet to walk around the whole ranch. The flock of peacocks is no longer resident at the Park. Apparently, the flock was expected to be 500 peacocks 'soon' and there is/will be an overwhelming maintenance issue. So disappointing: it is unknown why there was not a few kept to keep the tradition and start a new small flock! The original home and outbuildings are great to see from outside. And all was free. Unfortunately, there are no guides or helpers but it is free to walk the grounds. Lots of free parking was available! And bonus: what was originally a very large stable building had a free judged art exhibit today, Wednesday, January 28th, 2026. It runs to the 31st but then it will be gone! Excellent art gathered from Arizona artists only; and one of the artists was there today: she was a treasure trove of information!
Read more about Sahuaro Ranch ParkVery cute park to feed ducks and geese at. I love bringing my kids here with some duck/geese feed and letting them feed them all. There’s also a lot of good walking paths, playing fields, and play ground equipment for the kids. It’s usually clean, except for then duck/geese poop on the sidewalk so watch out for that.
