What dog owners are saying
Recent review snippets help visitors gauge vibe, upkeep, and who each park suits best.
A nice break for a walk on a cold day, I enjoyed Parr Hill Park which was struck by the 2011 tornado and rebuilt. Today, Parr Hill Park offers a wide range of features: a playground, picnic pavilion, grills, outdoor fitness equipment, restrooms, and a fountain. There's a splash pad, which was obviously drained and shut down for the season. There's even a dog park! Plenty of parking here and I had the park to myself. Parr Hill refers to the surrounding neighborhood. Unlike some parks named after notable people, this one reflects the identity of the area itself, preserving a local landmark name rather than commemorating a single person.
Read more about Parr Hill ParkNice playground! Lots of memories, U went there as as kid and took my kids there. It is right behind McDonalda, so I would grab happy meals for my kids then we would eat at the picnic tables then play in rhe park! Great Memories!
Read more about Garvin ParkBeautiful, beautiful, beautiful little park situated in a central location off of 4th/rangeline. I've taken my toddler son here since he was an infant, the landscape around the park is absolutely beautiful. There is a walking trail around the full plot of land as well as a small walking trail directly around the park if you like to walk while your kids play. I've seen some negative commentary related to the gazebo shelter being used by homeless citizens, but I would love to remind everyone that these are human beings that have just as much of a right to this park as anyone else. These humans are often very kind and try their best to be unobstructive while getting out of the heat, eating a meal, or charging their devices. Never felt unsafe as a woman with a child here, and encourage any family to spend time at this park.
Read more about Leonard ParkI recently stopped at Love’s Travel Stop during a long haul, and overall, it’s a decent spot that earns a solid 3 stars from me—good in some ways, but with a few frustrations that hold it back. On the positive side, they have a nice dog park, which was a lifesaver for letting my pup stretch his legs after hours on the road. The staff were super friendly and helpful, always with a smile even during busy times. There’s also plenty of room for trucks to maneuver around the lot, as long as there’s no lineup at the fuel pumps—if there is, expect to wait a while, but that’s not unique to this place. That said, there are some downsides. Parking for trucks is pretty limited, so if you arrive late, you might be out of luck. And the real kicker for me was their printing service—they charge $1 per page, which added up to $4 for just two pages I needed for some paperwork. Some other truck stops do this for free, so it felt like an unnecessary nickel-and-dime. I would’ve bumped this up to 4 stars without that print charge, but as it stands, it’s average for what I need on the road.
